Commissioning a painting is easy.
Just get in touch and we can discuss your idea.

We discuss all aspects of the painting - the subject, medium, size and budget. If you come with a clear idea of what you want this can be a very quick conversation. If you are a little unsure of what you are after then I can help. I have been doing this for many years and have plenty of ideas and previous work to inspire you.

A contract is signed and a deposit of 50% is paid. So there are no misunderstandings and we agree all aspects of the commission. The full balance becomes due once you have approved the final painting.
Work begins...

We organise the photographs. My paintings are from photographs so I will either need some good quality photos from you, or preferably, we book a time for me to come and take some. It is always a good thing to meet the subject first. It may be a yacht, a person or a landscape that is special to you. They all have personalities that I would like to get to know a little first. This is not essential or even possible sometimes - for instance if the painting is a surprise gift! We will go through the images to choose the very best ones to use as references for the painting.

When you are completely happy I can start on the full size painting.

You will receive progress reports on your painting and the estimated completion time. You can always call me if you have any questions.

The painting will be framed in my standard off white frames ready to hang. Unless agreed otherwise.

I will send a high resolution image for your approval. The remaining balance is then paid. Delivery can take place once funds have cleared.

Collection or delivery or shipping will be arranged.
